About the ‘Ancienne Ecole du Villard’
The ‘Ancienne Ecole du Villard’ (the Old School of Le Villard) is situated at a height of 875 metres on a country road. Le Villard is a hamlet in the countryside of some twenty houses, which is part of the municipality of St. Pierre d’Entremont. This bigger village is two kilometres from Le Villard and has facilities like a supermarket and restaurants with outdoor cafés. The two villages are linked by a charming footpath.
The Ecole has five guestrooms named after mountain tops from various continents. The Annapurna room is decorated in an Indian style, the Ararat has earth tints, the Kilimanjaro is inspired by Africa, blue and white are the main colours in the McKinley and the Mount Blanc needs no further explanation! Whichever room you choose you will always have your own comfortable bathroom with shower and toilet en-suite. All rooms have a magnificent view of the meadows and the surrounding mountains.
   
 
The former classroom, now a dining room and lounge, has large windows that offer a splendid view of the Entremont valley and the surrounding high mountains. In the evenings you can watch from your comfortable armchairs the red and pink colours of the setting sun on the mountainsides.
At the dinner tables you can enjoy delicious meals in a relaxed atmosphere. The kitchen offers meals based on recipes from all over the world. For vegetarians there is also a wide choice of menu. In summer the big garden and terrace offer outdoor breakfast and dinner.
